1940s Lytham

There are some days in which I am fiercely proud to be a Brit, and today was such a day. We took our nephew and CC’s Mom to a 1940s re-enactment day in Lytham and a fine time was had by all. SS officers sipped tea from enamel mugs alongside French Resistance, British Army officers as well as American GI’s. Winston Churchill happily exchanged pleasantaries with Stormtroopers and George Formby entertained the crowds. Grown men played at soldiers in a large battlefield display and onlookers were thrilled ( and deafened) by a display from a Rolls Royce aeroplane engine. Wonderful !
